Highlight Text using Text Highlight Colour
Ribbon Location: Home Tab – Font Group – Text Highlight Colour (drop-down arrow for colour options).
How to Highlight Text in Word
- Select the text you wish to highlight and select the highlighter colour using the dropdown arrow.
- To switch back to the normal cursor, click the Text Highlight Colour command.

Bullet Points
Location: Home Tab – Paragraph Group

Bulleted and numbered lists can be used in your documents to format, arrange and emphasise text.
How to create a bulleted list
- Before you begin to type, place the cursor at the start of your page.
- Click the Bullets or Numbering drop-down arrow on the Home tab.
- Select the bullet or numbering style that you would like to use, the bullet point will appear in your document.
- To remove numbers or bullets from a list, select the list and click the Bullet or Numbering commands.
When you’ve reached the end of your list, press Enter twice to return to “normal” formatting.
